Triple Counter-Top Filter with 1 Micron, UDF/GAC, & Activated Carbon Block (CTO)
The Triple Counter-Top Filtration System is stylishly positioned next to your kitchen sink. It enhances the general character and appeal of your kitchen while offering you the convenience of great-tasting water on tap.
This filter set is only recommended for good quality municipal source waters, where there may be a small amount of sediment and higher chlorine content. This filter set should not be used with source waters that are of questionable quality and may have bacteria present. It is also not recommended for non-municipal water sources such as boreholes or rivers.
Benefits:
- The 1 Micron Filter removes sediment, rust, dirt, and other visible particles in the water.
- Preserve the natural minerals in the water
- No water wasted during filtration
- Low maintenance
- Low filter replacement cost
- No electricity required
- No specialized expertise is required to install the unit
- Small system, requiring very little space
What it won't remove:
- While the 1 Micron filter will catch some bacteria, this filter set is not recommended for microbiologically unsafe waters, as the activated carbon filter cartridges will both remove the chlorine from the water, as well as create an ideal situation for additional bacterial growth to occur.
- Heavy metals
- Pesticides or Herbicides
- Hardness (Lime / Kalk)
- It will not change the mineral content (Total Dissolved Solids / TDS) of the water in any way.
How it works:
Keep in mind:
- The Counter Top System uses clear housings, which are great for seeing your filters, and getting an idea of when they are dirt or in need of replacement. However, the clear plastic exposing the filters to the surrounding light increases the likelihood of algae growth, which can cause the housings to go green over time. It is recommended that these systems are not installed in direct sunlight to help slow possible algae growth.
- As the KDF Cartridge contains carbon, some carbon dust will be released (black particles) will be released when first installing a new system or replacing the filters. This carbon dust is not harmful, however, may not be pleasant to drink. You will need to flush the system for between 5 to 15 minutes to remove all the carbon dust inside. Then the water should be clear, and you can begin to use the system.
- Minerals and pesticides are too small to be removed by the filters in this filtration unit. Should this be a concern, consider installing the Home Reverse Osmosis System.
- The system requires that a small water pipe is attached to the end of your standard kitchen tap.
