Teflon (PTFE) piping and tubing is the industry gold standard for delivering concentrated ozone gas or ozonated water. Because ozone (O3) is an extremely aggressive oxidizing agent, standard rubber, PVC, and lower-grade plastics will quickly oxidize, crack, and fail when exposed to it. Teflon completely resists ozone degradation. 

Teflon tubing is typically used for Ozone Systems because: 

• Chemical Inertness: PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) does not react with ozone, even at high gas concentrations or elevated temperatures.
• No Outgassing or Leaching: It won't pollute ultra-pure water systems or break down into organic compounds.
• Temperature Tolerance: Maintains structural integrity across temperatures
• Long Service Life: Unlike silicone, which eventually hardens or discolors under continuous, high-concentration ozone, Teflon remains unchanged indefinitely.
