Atlas Filtri Hydra Trio Filtration System

The Atlas Filtri Trio Filtration System is essentially a Double-Stage Home Water Filtration system combined, with a Hydra Flushable sediment filter to create an "All-In-One system".

The first stage Hydra Big Filter, captures the larger dirt, sediment, and particles, filtering the water down to 50um (micron). The filter can then be flushed, to clean off all the sediment captured on the filter's surface.

The Double Stage Big Housings on the Hydra Trio filtration system can hold a variety of different filter cartridges, depending on the filter combination you selected the double system will:

    • Remove finer particles and sediment
    • Capture some bacteria in the water (with the 1 Micron Rated Filters Melted Spray or Antibacterial Melted Spray)
    • Absorb Chlorine and Organic molecules or bad odours (if the Carbon Block, Silver Nano, or KDF options are selected)
    • Capture a large amount of bacteria from the water (if the 0.1um Pleated or Absolute Pleated Options are selected)
    • Create a protective barrier against Kalk/Lime/Hardness inside pipes, geysers, etc (if the Siliphos cartridge option is selected)
    • Create a protective barrier against Corrosive/Acidic/ Low PH water, inside pipes geysers, etc (if the SSG Anti-Corrosion Option is selected).

The Hydra Trio system is rated for a flow rate of around 1200 to 2400 LPH. Keep in mind, that the filter cartridge option selected, as well as the source water pressure and quality, will directly influence the maximum flow rate of the system.

The Atlas Filtri Hydra Trio system's housings and brackets are manufactured in Italy and have a two-year warranty* on the components.

The housings are rated for a maximum of 8 bar (115psi), compared to the industry standard big blue housings which are normally only rated for around 6 bar / 90psi.

The top "heads" of the Atlas Filtri system are molded as a single complete unit (Manifold)  and not individual housings that are then connected with fittings with thread sealing tape as is typically the standard for triple big blue systems. This leads to a far more robust unit, with fewer potential points of failure/leaks as can occur between individual housings that have been joined with individual fittings with thread sealing tape.

The Atlas Filtri Trio's Inlet and Outlet Ports are Plastic and are 1"/ 32mm Female thread.

    Benefits:

    • All the water supplied to your house is filtered
    • Removes chemicals such as chlorine, provided you select a filter set option containing either a Carbon Block, Silver Nano, or KDF Cartridge in the set.
    • Filtrated water tastes and smells great
    • Preserve the natural minerals in the water
    • No water wasted during filtration
    • Low maintenance
    • Relatively low filter replacement cost
    • No electricity required
    • Large filtration capacity
    • Low-cost filtration solution

    Keep in mind:

    • The Hydra Filtration system requires a minium of 1.8bar water pressure for flushing, however ideally you would want at least 3 to 4 bar of water pressure to get the most effect flushing of the system's cartridge.
    • These systems are not ideal for situations with heavy bacteria levels. while the 1 Micron and 0.2 Micron Filters will capture some bacteria, we would recommend that you would rather want to consider a more advanced filtration system, such as the Complete Home Ultra Filtration (UF) Systems or Complete Home Ultra Violet (UV) Systems.
    • The standard filter sets containing the activated carbon block option should be replaced every 3 to 6 months, depending on the source water quality. The more advanced filter sets containing the silver nano carbon, KDF, and/or Antibacterial options have a life span of 6 to 12 months, however again this does depend on the quality of source water.
    • Minerals and pesticides are too small to be removed by the filters in this filtration unit.
    • You will require some plumbing knowledge and experience to install the system successfully.
    • These systems typically filter water at a peak flow rate of 2400 liters per hour. However, the flow rate will be directly effected by source water quality, incoming pressure, as well as the filters selected. For example, a 0.1um Filter will create far more resistance to water, than a 5 micron filter, and so the flow rate through a 0.1um Filter will be far less.
    • The Atlas Filter housings have a maximum operating pressure of  8 bar / 115 psi. If you suspect that your water pressure will at any time exceed 115 psi, a pressure regulator MUST BE INSTALLED before the filter housing. This action will guard against the water pressure exceeding the maximum pressure rating. It is recommended that the pressure regulator is set at 100 psi or less.
    • Protect the filter housing from freezing, as this can cause the housing to crack.

    Filter Set Options

There are several different combinations of Filters available for the Atlas Filtri Hydra Trio System:

Filter Set Option 1: 1 Micron, & Activated Carbon Block

    • For good quality municipal water only, there is no protection against bacteria.

Filter Set Option 2: 1 Micron, & Silver Nano Carbon Block

    • For Decent quality municipal water only, there is no barrier against bacteria but resistance to growth in the filter.

Filter Set Option 3: 1 Micron, & Premium KDF Cartridge

    • For Decent quality municipal water only, there is no barrier against bacteria but resistance to growth in the filters, and some Heavy Metal Reduction.

Filter Set Option 4: 1 Micron, & 0.1 Micron Pleated Filter

    • For good quality water, there is a Barrier protection against bacteria. So can be used for Backup and very occasional Rain Water filtration. No Corrosion Protection for Rain Water.  No removal of Chlorine or Organic molecules (Bad odors)

Filter Set Option 5: 1 Micron, & 0.1 Micron Absolute Pleated Filter

    • For Rain, or Borehole water, there is a Barrier protection against bacteria. So can be used for Backup, Limited bacteria in municipal water, Borehole (typically not the only thing needed), and very occasional Rain Water filtration. No Corrosion Protection for Rain Water, Siliphos or SSG will need to be added as a 4th stage for frequent rainwater use. Will not remove Chlorine or Organic Molecules (Bad odours)

Filter Set Option 6: 1 Micron, & Siliphos Cartridge

    • For municipal, Rain, or Borehole water, will create a barrier to Kalk/Lime/hardness, helping to protect against limescale build. There is also a limited protection against corrosion from corrosive/acidic/low ph waters, however, in severe cases of corrosive water this option will have little effect. There is no Barrier to bacteria or organisms. So can be used with Borehole (typically not the only thing needed), and very occasional Rain Water filtration.

Filter Set Option 7: 1 Micron, & SSG Anti-Corrosion Media Cartridge

    • For municipal, Rain, or Borehole water, will create a barrier against corrosion from corrosive/acidic/low ph waters. Does not have any effect on kalk/lime/hardness, and will not prevent limescale buildup in any way. There is no Barrier to bacteria or organisms. So can be used Borehole (typically not the only thing needed), and very occasional Rain Water filtration.

    Additional Filter Options

Change Standard 1 Micron Melted Spray to Antibacterial Option

The Melted Spray Antibacterial filters like the standard melted Spray type are designed to capture dirt, sediments, visible particles, and bacteria.

However, the Melted Spray sediment filters have had a silver ion additive added to their material, which creates a bacteriostatic function to inhibit the growth of bacteria on the surface of the filter, helping to ensure healthier product water and a longer life span of the filter.

This option is ideal for source waters that have a very high bacterial / organism count and will help to extend the life of the filter.

    Warranty*

All Atlas Filtri Brand Housings, systems, components, fittings, and parts come with a 2-year* warranty. Please note that the warranty does not cover damage caused by mishandling, improper installation, or in situations where the maximum operating parameters for the product are exceeded. The Warranty does not cover consumables such as Filter cartridges and RO/Nano membranes, etc.

    Additional Options

The Atlas Filtri Hydra Trio System comes with 3 Single Wall Mounting Brackets, which allow the system to be mounted against a wall. However, the system can not be installed or placed standing on the ground, due to the release ports below the big blue housings. An additional option is to upgrade the wall mounting brackets, to a 304 Stainless steel mounting frame. The mounting frame still allows the unit to be mounted on a wall or similar surface but also allows the systems to be installed or placed standing on the ground. Please note that these brackets are made to order, as a result the lead time is 7 to 10 working days.

    PVC Threaded and Glue Fittings

PVC(Polyvinyl chloride) fittings are used to connect sections of pipes or tubes, adapt to different sizes or shapes, and control the flow of water. There are two predominant types of PVC fittings namely PVC Glue Fittings and PVC Threaded Fittings. The difference between the two is that PVC Glue Fittings result in permanent joints and PVC Threaded Fittings are semi-permanent and can be replaced. PVC Glue fittings are joined with primer and cement- a chemical solvent that melts the surface of the PVC and then quickly re-hardens to fuse the pieces together. This results in an airtight, leak-proof bond similar to what you get with welding metal. An example of such a fitting is a PVC Glue Reducing Socket which is used to join together two pieces of PVC pipes with different diameters. Another example would be a  90 Degree Elbow which is used to connect two pipes of the same diameter at an angle of 90 degrees.PVC Threaded fittings utilize a simple threaded connection whereby replaceable 'male threaded' are screwed into 'female threaded'.Male threads have a thread on the outside of the fitting and female threads have a thread on the inside. When you thread the fitting in, it compresses against the other threads.PTFE tape is used to thread these together and the proper way to assemble threaded fittings is to finger tighten, then add one to two turns but no more. An example of a threaded fitting is a Reducing Nipple Male Threaded which is used to connect between two female threads of different diameters.
