JoJo Quick-Fit Sediment (PP) 5 Micron and Disruptor™ PACV Cartridges for JoJo Under The Counter Filter system
How often should the filters be replaced?
It is recommended to replace the filters every 3 to 6 months or 3000 Litres in order to maintain optimum filtration.
Note: because water quality and volume of consumption varies, filter service life will also vary.

The Sediment filter is the first stage in the JoJo filtration systems.
It serves to remove visible dirt particles such as mud, rust, and sand from the water.
A Melted-spray (PP / Polyproperlyene) filter cartridge has a multi-layer structure and is self-bonded, thus not making use of a chemical binder.
After passing through this filter, the water may appear to be clean. However, looks can be deceiving and most water contaminants are smaller than what our eyes can see. These contaminants may not be removable by the sole use of a sediment filter.
Sediment filters are rated by a micron number. A micron is a unit of length that is equal to one millionth (10-6) of a meter. The JoJo Sediment Filter is Rated for 5 Micron.
To put this in perspective, look at the sizes of the following objects:
- Eye of a needle ……………………………………….1230 micron
- Dot (.)…………………………………………………………615 micron
- Table salt……………………………………………………100 micron
- Human Hair (average diameter)………………….60 micron
- White Blood Cell…………………………………………..25 micron
- Red Blood Cell………………………………………………..8 micron
- Spider Web………………………………………………...2 - 3 micron
- Bacteria (harmful)……………………………………0.3 - 2 micron
With a nominal sediment filter, 60 – 98% of all the particles larger than the specified filter micron number are removed.
Clean Drinking water through Disruptor™ Technology
Most water filters act as a verified sieve. They reduce the amount of sediment and chlorine to make the water look and taste better but leave behind microscopic things such as bacteria, viruses, parasites, and trace pharmaceuticals to name a few.
Through Disruptor™ technology, JoJo water filters remove more contaminants than any other filter on the market to provide your household with clean, safe and great-tasting water. This ground-breaking technology harnesses a process called electroabsorption that creates an electrical field activated by water to attract and remove even the tiniest contaminants.
Please note that this cartridge will only fit the JoJo Brand Under the counter Filter systems. They will not fit any other kind of filter system.
