How OneStop Plus Media Works
OneStop Plus Systems in comparison to other Anti-Scale Prevention Methods
OneStop Media Effectiveness on Heavy Metals.
As well as helping to control Scale in a source water, the OneStop Filtration Media will also remove heavy metals from the water, including Lead, Mercury, Cadmium, Copper, and Zinc.
Keep in mind that the effectiveness of the OneStop Media to remove heavy metals from the water will depend on the actual water quality as well as the flow rate (Litres per minute/per hour) through the system.
Typically the OneStop Media has an effective removal rate of 30 to 60% depending on the specific metal and flow rate. Please see below an exsert from a water test done showing the effectiveness of the OneStop Media against heavy metals.
Whats included in the OneStop Plus Anti-Scale Filter Kits:
- Filter Housing (either 10", 10" Jumbo, or 20" Jumbo)
- OneStop Filter Cartridge (either 10", 10" Jumbo, or 20" Jumbo)
- Wall Mounting Bracket
- Housing Spanner
Maintenance (Replacement Periods)
The OneStop Plus Media Cartridges have a 6 to 12-month* lifespan before they need to be replaced.
*The Replacement Period will depend on both the flow rate through the systems, as well as the quality of the source water.
Typically the first sign that the Cartridge needs to be replaced would when you start to see hardness developing on your pipes or geysers.
Please ensure when ordering a replacement cartridge for your OneStop Plus Anti-Scale System that you order the correct size cartridge for your system. Filtershop cannot be held responsible if the incorrect Filter Cartridge is ordered for your system.
Housing Dimensions
- 10" Filter Housing - 30cm (H) x 12cm (W) / Port (P): 3/4" / 20mm
- 10" Jumbo Housing - 32.5cm (H) x 18.5cm (W) / Port (P): 1" / 25mm
- 20" Jumbo Housing - 61cm (H) x 18.5cm (W) / Port (P): 1" / 25mm
Flow Ratings for the Different OneStop Variations
Keep In Mind
- Do not use OneStop PlusTM in closed loop systems
- Do not use OneStop PlusTM before a storage tank. After 72 hours the water will re-dissolve the crystals back into solution and it will be able to form scale again.
- Do not use OneStop PlusTM in steam boilers
- Do not undersize or oversize the OneStop PlusTM system. It needs to be sized according to flow rate to achieve bed lift and maximize efficiency.
- Incoming water should be tested to meet the influent water chemistry requirements
- Water containing heavy loads of dirt should be prefiltered prior to the system.
- Do not install after copper/zinc redox alloy medias
- It does not prevent water spotting or mineral residue build upon areas that are repetitively wet and dry. That is a product of evaporation.
- Adding chemicals to water that has been treated by OneStop PlusTM may counter its treatment effects.
- Systems installed on or above a second story should also have a vacuum breaker.
Filter System Installations:
Filtershop now offers you the option to have your Filter Systems Installed by us. We do installation in and around Centurion, Pretoria and Johannesburg.
If you are interested in having one of our technicians come to your home, business or site to have a filter system installed, please contact us via email: [email protected] and we will get back to you with more information.
Note: Additional charges for any type of counter-top other than wood, may be charged, as special drilling will be required which makes use of a very unique drill bit.
PVC Threaded and Glue Fittings
PVC(Polyvinyl chloride) fittings are used to connect sections of pipes or tubes, adapt to different sizes or shapes, and controlling the flow of water. There are two predominant types of PVC fittings namely PVC Glue Fittings and PVC Threaded Fittings. The difference between the two is that PVC Glue Fittings result in permanent joints and PVC Threaded Fittings are semi-permanent and can be replaced. PVC Glue fittings are joined with primer and cement- a chemical solvent that melts the surface of the PVC and then quickly re-hardens to fuse the pieces together. This results in an airtight, leak-proof bond similar to what you get with welding metal. An example of such a fitting is a PVC Glue Reducing Socket which is used to join together two pieces of PVC pipes with different diameters. Another example would be a 90 Degree Elbow which is used to connect two pipes of the same diameter at an angle of 90 degrees.PVC Threaded fittings utilise a simple threaded connection whereby replaceable 'male threaded' are screwed into 'female threaded'.Male threads have a thread on the outside of the fitting and female threads have a thread on the inside. When you thread the fitting in, it compresses against the other threads.PTFE tape is used to thread these together and the proper way to assemble threaded fittings is to finger tighten, then add one to two turns but no more. An example of a threaded fitting is a Reducing Nipple Male Threaded which is used to connect between two female threads of different diameters.
