Inline Ultrafiltration (UF) Membrane - Non-Flushable- Quick Fitting Type
Ultrafiltration (UF) Membranes are made up of Hollow Fibres that typically filter down to between 0.1 to 0.002 microns, depending on the grade of the UF Membrane. This is small enough to capture/remove fine sediment, particles, proteins, bacteria, and larger organic molecules. UF membranes will allow dissolved salts, minerals, and smaller organic molecules to pass through the membrane. So the UF Membranes will not change the mineral, salt, or hardness content of the source water in any way.
The Inline UF Membrane (Flushable) is rated to filter down to 0.2 microns, and has a maximum flow rate of 540 Litres Per Hour (LPH).
This UF Membrane cannot be backwash or flushed, to remove the contaminants captured on the hollow fibre membrane surfaces. As a result, this UF membrane should be replaced every 6 to 12 months*.
*Please keep in mind that in situations with poor source water quality, the life span can be less.
The Quick Fitting type UF Membrane does not have a female thread but instead uses quick fit "stalks" to connect with 1/4" Pipe to Pipe Fittings. Please Note that you will require this type of fitting to install it.
