Atlas Filtri SANIC Trio Premium Big Blue System (Made in Italy)

The Atlas Filtri Trio Premium Big Blue System is a simple way of removing unwanted particles from the water supply to your home.

The Atlas Filtri 20-inch Big Sanic Antimicrobial Housing is manufactured using proven Microban Silver-Based Technology to protect against the growth and reproduction of microorganisms, such as bacteria.

Essentially the Microban Silver-Based Technology helps to extend the life span of a filter cartridge inside of the housings, by slowing down how quickly bacteria may grow inside of the housing and on the filter cartridge itself.

Keep in mind, that while the Microban technology will slow down the growth of bacteria inside the housing, it is not designed to eliminate and/or remove bacteria from source water by itself. In order to eliminate and/or bacteria from a water source, you would require something such as chlorine dosing, or Ultra Violet (UV), or Membrane technologies (UF, NF, or RO), or 0.1-micron Filters, or any combination of these different processes. If you are looking to eliminate and/or remove bacteria and microorganisms from water, then we would recommend contacting our sales team for advice.

The Atlas Filtri Trio Premium Big Blue system's housings and brackets are manufactured in Italy and come with a two-year warranty* on the components.

The housings are rated for a maximum of 8 bar (115psi), compared to the industry standard big blue housings which are normally only rated for around 6 bar / 90psi.

The top "heads" of the Atlas Filtri SANIC Trio system are molded as a single complete unit (Manifold)  and not individual housings that are then connected with fittings with thread sealing tape as is typically the standard for triple big blue systems. This leads to a far more robust unit, with fewer potential points of failure/leaks as can occur between individual housings that have been joined with individual fittings with thread sealing tape.

The Atlas Filtri Trio's Inlet and Outlet Ports are Plastic and are 1"/ 32mm Female thread.

    Warranty*

All Atlas Filtri Brand Housings, systems, components, fittings, and parts come with a 2-year* warranty. Please note that the warranty does not cover damage caused by mishandling, improper installation, or in situations where the maximum operating parameters for the product are exceeded. The Warranty does not cover consumables such as Filter cartridges and RO/Nano membranes, etc.

    Keep in mind:

    • The standard filter sets containing the activated carbon block option should be replaced every 3 to 6 months, depending on the source water quality. The more advanced filter sets containing the silver nano carbon, KDF, and/or Antibacterial options have a life span of 6 to 12 months, however again this does depend on the quality of source water.
    • Minerals and pesticides are too small to be removed by the filters in this filtration unit.
    • You will require some plumbing knowledge and experience to install the system successfully.
    • The standard Filter set (5 Micron, Carbon Block, and 1 Micron) is designed for the filtration of relatively good municipal quality source water. If you make use of a different water source, such as a borehole or you are in an area, where the municipal water quality in very poor, then you may want to look at the alternative filter set options. If you are not sure which set will be right for your application, we recommend contacting our sales team and they will assist you in selecting the best filters for your situation.
    • Neither of these filters removes lime (kalk), minerals, or metals from the water. As a result of this, the water may remain cloudy or tinted, and may not come out crystal clear.
    • These systems typically have a flow rate ranging from 1200 to 2400Litres per Hour, depending on the Filter cartridges selected for the system.**
    • The Atlas Filtri Filter housings have a maximum operating pressure of 115 psi (8 bar). If you suspect that your water pressure will at any time exceed 115 psi, a pressure regulator MUST BE INSTALLED before the filter housing. This action will guard against the water pressure exceeding the maximum pressure rating. It is recommended that the pressure regulator is set at 90 psi or less.
    • Protect the filter housing from freezing, as this can cause the housing to crack.

    Additional Filter Options

Change Standard 1 Micron Melted Spray to Antibacterial Option

The Melted Spray Antibacterial filters like the standard melted Spray type are designed to capture dirt, sediments, visible particles, and bacteria.

However, the Melted Spray sediment filters have had a silver ion additive added to their material, which creates a bacteriostatic function to inhibit the growth of bacteria on the surface of the filter, helping to ensure healthier product water and a longer life span of the filter.

This option is ideal for source waters that have a very high bacterial / organism count and will help to extend the life of the filter.

Change Nominal 0.1 Micron to Absolute 0.1 Micron Pleated Filter Option

If you select a filter set with the 0.1 Micron Pleated Filter then you will have the option of either a "Nominal" or "Absolute" Pleated Filter for the 0.1 Micron.

Most sediment filter cartridges such as the standard 0.1 Micron Pleated Filter, have what is referred to as a nominal filter rating. Essentially what this means is that the micron rating of a filter is the approximate "average" size (diameter) of the pores on its surface and within the cartridge itself. It is generally accepted that filters with nominal filter ratings will retain (trap) around 85% of the particles equal or greater in size to the stated micron rating.

An "Absolute" filtration rating means that the filter material has been specifically manufactured, and passed lab testing to ensure that 99.9% of the particles larger than the stated micron rating will be captured (trapped) on the surface or within the filter itself.  In the case of our 0.1 micron Absolute Filters, this means that you will get the most effective removal of bacteria and organisms possible with  20" Big type Filter Cartridges.

Pressure Gauges, Flow Meter (Rotameter), and By-pass piping Combination Options

There are a number of different fittings and additions that can be added to the big blue systems, including a By-pass, Inlet and outlet Pressure Gauges, as well as a 250-2500LPH Flowmeter (Rotatmeter).

These additions can be added separately or in a number of combinations with one another. Please see below for information on the different fitting options.

Please note that these additional fitting combinations are built to order, and construction time is 2 to 3 working days from when payment has been received.

    By-Pass Piping

Adding a bypass to the system allows you to divert the flow of water around the system if you need to conduct maintenance on the system.

    Inlet and Outlet Pressure Gauges

Inlet Pressure Gauge allows you to monitor the pressure of the incoming source water Pressure. This will give you an indication that your water pressure is above the 6 bar maximum rating for the housings, in which case you can then install a pressure regulating valve before the filter system.

The Inlet Pressure gauge will also help to indicate whether the incoming source water pressure is too low, in which case a pressure pump can be added before the filter system.

Using an Outlet Pressure Gauge in combination with the inlet pressure gauge will give you an indication of the change in pressure (pressure “drop”) from before to after the filter system.

This will also allow you to see if and when the filters are starting to block up, indicated by a big change between the inlet and outlet pressure levels. Assisting you in knowing when to replace the filter cartridges inside.

Flow Meter (Rotameter) 250 to 2500LPH

The Flow Meter (Rotameter) allows you to see how much draw (flow rate) is growing through the filter system at a particular time and helps to give you an idea of how many litres per hour (LPH) you are using at a given time. For Example, flow rate (LPH) in a household when one versus two showers are running.

    PVC Threaded and Glue Fittings

PVC(Polyvinyl chloride) fittings are used to connect sections of pipes or tubes, adapt to different sizes or shapes, and control the flow of water. There are two predominant types of PVC fittings namely PVC Glue Fittings and PVC Threaded Fittings. The difference between the two is that PVC Glue Fittings result in permanent joints and PVC Threaded Fittings are semi-permanent and can be replaced. PVC Glue fittings are joined with primer and cement- a chemical solvent that melts the surface of the PVC and then quickly re-hardens to fuse the pieces together. This results in an airtight, leak-proof bond similar to what you get with welding metal. An example of such a fitting is a PVC Glue Reducing Socket which is used to join together two pieces of PVC pipes with different diameters. Another example would be a  90 Degree Elbow which is used to connect two pipes of the same diameter at an angle of 90 degrees.PVC Threaded fittings utilize a simple threaded connection whereby replaceable 'male threaded' are screwed into 'female threaded'.Male threads have a thread on the outside of the fitting and female threads have a thread on the inside. When you thread the fitting in, it compresses against the other threads.PTFE tape is used to thread these together and the proper way to assemble threaded fittings is to finger tighten, then add one to two turns but no more. An example of a threaded fitting is a Reducing Nipple Male Threaded which is used to connect between two female threads of different diameters.
