Alkaline System Cleaner for Ultilies & RO Membranes
H5300 is a synergistic blend of neutralized phosphonates and polymeric dispersants that will safely remove corrosion products, organic debris, and silt from closed systems. It can be used in either open, chilled, or hot water loops with a low risk of excessive corrosion during the cleaning process.
H5300 can safely be used with types of metals that will be encountered in these systems. In addition, H5300 will not adversely affect any type of rubber or elastomer that may be present.
Specifications:
PH@ 25C: 11.5 - 12.5
Specific Gravity: 1.18 - 1.23
Appearance: Opaque, Pale Yellow Liquid
Dosage Strategy
H5300 should be diluted with warm water to give a solution of the desired strength. The solution temperature should be kept below 600C to obtain the lowest corrosion rate. Cleaning is more rapid if the solution is kept warm and this is recommended. The cleaning solutions should be circulated to provide more uniform cleaning and ensure that all areas are exposed to adequate concentrations of H5300. Once the cleaning is complete the system should be immediately flushed and treated.
Control range
The dosage of H5300 will vary depending on the amount and type of deposit in the system. It is normally recommended that H5300 be dosed to give a 1-5% solution for cleanings. The pH should be kept at a neutral pH during the cleaning.
Membrane Cleaning
For membrane cleaning of polyamide types, the pH of the solution should be around 12.0 and should be recirculated through each pass for a period of 30 to 60 minutes depending upon the degree of contamination. In cases of heavy organic fouling, soaking for a period of up to 12 hours may be required. A recirculation flow rate of 2.5m3/hr to 10m3/hr will be required for 4” and 8” membrane sizes respectively.
Performance Monitoring
Continues measurement of pH and maintaining the pH at 12.0
Hazard Info / Handling Precautions
Avoid contact with skin, eyes, or clothing. If skin comes into contact with H5300 wash with water. If eyes are affected, flush with water for at least 15 minutes and get medical attention.
