150psi High Flow Single Length Stainless Steel (S/S) Bag Filter Housing
The 150psi High Flow Single Length S/S Bag Filter Housing will remove sediment, dirt, rust, and other visible particles in the water. Capable of Handling High Flow Rates, they are also easy to install and maintain. T
The 150psi High Flow Single Length S/S Bag Filter Housing can handle high flow rates of up to 20,000 Litres per Hour*, depending on the Micron Rating of the Bag itself.
Typically, the bag filter housings' flow ratings are based on the use of a 100 micron (um) Filter Bag. However, please keep in mind that as you go to smaller (finer) micron ratings, the maximum flow rates possible through the system will also be reduced.
The quality of the source water will also have an influence on both the flow rate of the Filter system, as well as the life span of the Filter bag. In situations with higher turbidity (sediment) levels, the filter bag will block more quickly, which will reduce the flow rate through the housings.
Filter Bags inside the Bag Filter Housings are rated by a micron (um) number. A micron is a unit of length that is equal to one millionth (10-6) of a meter. The Polypropylene (PP) Needle Felt Filter Bags are available in 1, 5, 10, 25, 50, 75, 100, 150, and 200um (micron). The micron number refers to the largest dirt particle that will pass through the filter.
To put this in perspective, look at the sizes of the following objects:
- Eye of a needle ……………………………………….1230 micron
- Dot (.)…………………………………………………………615 micron
- Table salt……………………………………………………100 micron
- Human Hair (average diameter)………………….60 micron
- White Blood Cell…………………………………………..25 micron
- Red Blood Cell………………………………………………..8 micron
- Spider Web………………………………………………...2 - 3 micron
- Bacteria (harmful)……………………………………0.3 - 2 micron
With a nominal sediment filter, 60 – 98% of all the particles larger than the specified filter micron number are removed.
The Bag Filter Housing Features:
A Simple to install and easy to maintain.
- Bag Filter Housings can handle flow rates of up to 20,000 Litres Per Hour*, depending on the Filter Bag Housing Model
Bag Filter Housing is made of high-quality 304 Stainless Steel.
- S/S Bag Filter Housings are rated for a maximum pressure of 150psi / 10 bar
A Stainless Steel internal basket allows the housing to easily install a filter bag inside. The Basket is well sealed, to prevent any "leakage" around the sides of it, helping to ensure all the water flows through the Filter Bag.
- The Bag Filters used inside the Bag Filter Housings are made of 100% Polypropylene (PP) Needle Felt Construction
The Bag Filters come in a variety of micron ratings, including: 1, 5, 10, 25, 50, 75, 100, 150, and 200 micron (um)
- The Filter Bags tend to have a longer life span than most standard sediment filter cartridges.
However, when replacement of the bag inside is needed, the Internal Basket inside the housing makes replacing the filter bag quick and easy.
Specifications of Single Length S/S Bag Filter Housing:
Maximum Flow Rating Range: 10,000 - 20,000 Litres Per Hour*
- Uses Single Length Filter Bags (Length: 17" / 43cm, Diameter: 7" / 18cm)
PVC Bag Filter Housing Dimensions: Height: 800mm / Diameter 257mm
*Keep in mind: Flow ratings are based on the use of a 100 micron (um) filter bag, in an ideal pressure and water quality situation. In situations where finer filter bags are used, or the source water quality is not ideal, the maximum flow rate possible may be greatly reduced.
How the Bag Filter System works:
The internal Bag Filter is supported by an internal basket (either Stainless Steel or PVC), where the water flows into the inlet, gets filtered through the Bag Filter, & filtered water flows through the outlet.
When the bag filter becomes full, simply take out the filter, rinse the bag filter & then replace the bag filter.
Keep in mind* that while the Filter bag is Reusable, as time goes the filter will remain "dirty" despite rinsing, or may start to develop small holes in the fabric due to wear and tear. At this point, the Filter Bag should be replaced.

Warranty*:
The Filter Bag Housing comes with a 1-year* Warranty. Please note that the warranty does not cover the filter bargs, as their life span is completely dependent on the quality of the source water, as well as the flow rate through the system.
*Please note that the warranty does not cover damage caused by mishandling, improper installation, or in situations where the max operating parameters for the product are exceeded.
Replacement Filter Bags:

The Single Length PVC Bag Filter Housing uses Single Length Filter Bags.
The Bag Filters come in a variety of micron ratings, including: 1, 5, 10, 25, 50, 75, 100, 150, and 200 micron (um)

PVC Threaded and Glue Fittings
PVC(Polyvinyl chloride) fittings are used to connect sections of pipes or tubes, adapt to different sizes or shapes, and controlling the flow of water. There are two predominant types of PVC fittings namely PVC Glue Fittings and PVC Threaded Fittings. The difference between the two is that PVC Glue Fittings result in permanent joints and PVC Threaded Fittings are semi-permanent and can be replaced. PVC Glue fittings are joined with primer and cement- a chemical solvent that melts the surface of the PVC and then quickly re-hardens to fuse the pieces together. This results in an airtight, leak-proof bond similar to what you get with welding metal. An example of such a fitting is a PVC Glue Reducing Socket which is used to join together two pieces of PVC pipes with different diameters. Another example would be a 90 Degree Elbow which is used to connect two pipes of the same diameter at an angle of 90 degrees.PVC Threaded fittings utilise a simple threaded connection whereby replaceable 'male threaded' are screwed into 'female threaded'.Male threads have a thread on the outside of the fitting and female threads have a thread on the inside. When you thread the fitting in, it compresses against the other threads.PTFE tape is used to thread these together and the proper way to assemble threaded fittings is to finger tighten, then add one to two turns but no more. An example of a threaded fitting is a Reducing Nipple Male Threaded which is used to connect between two female threads of different diameters.
