800GPD Direct Line Reverse Osmosis system

The 800GPD Reverse Osmosis (RO) system is one of the most complete filtration systems. It has the ability to eliminate up to 99.8% of harmful contaminants in water such as bacteria, viruses, lead, radium, chlorine, and arsenic. It makes use of multi-stage filtration technology.

With the RO system, you can rest assured that your drinking water is clean, clear and healthy.

    Benefits:

    • Maintenance is easy and low cost
    • Filtered water tastes and smells great.
    • Promotes a healthy lifestyle
    • If installed under the counter then the RO is Hidden away out of sight, only a chrome tap is visible
    • Removes 99.8% of all contaminants in water
    • Flushing of the membrane is done Automatically
    • The low mineral content water is great for detoxifying your body
    • The low mineral content water helps to prevent and dissolve kidney stones
    • Delivers up to 2400 Liters (800 Gallons)** of filtered water per day

    Keep In Mind

    • **The Production Rate of the 800GPD Reverse Osmosis System is based on "IDEAL" quality source water. In most real-world situations the source water quality is not ideal and in such cases, the production rate of the RO system is only 30 to 70% of it's rated capacity. So in the case of the 800GPD RO in practice will only produce between 15 & 35 Litres per Hour.
    • The system has a water wastage rate of up to 4:1 due to constant flushing of the membrane, so for every 1 Liter of clean, filtered water produced, up to 4 liters will be used to flush the system.
    • The 800GPD RO System is rated for a maximum of 6 bar water pressure. If your source water is prone to high water pressure or spikes, then we would strongly recommend added a Pressure protection valve before the system.
    • The quality of the product water produced by the RO system will completely depend on the quality of source water being used.
    • The Pre-filters need to be replaced on a regular basis, failure to do so will lead to problems or damage to the system.

    Pre-filter Options

Pre-Filter Set Option 1: 5 Micron, Granular Activated Carbon (GAC), & Activated Carbon Block

    • Stage 1: 20 Inch Sediment Filter - Removes Particles, Dirt, Sand, Mud, Rust, and other large visible particles in the water.
    • Stage 2: 20 Inch Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) - Absorbs Chlorine and Organic molecules (bad odors) from the water.
    • Stage 3: 20 Inch Activated Carbon Block - Further Reduces Chlorine and Organic Molecules in the source water. It also comes with a 5-micron carbon to capture any carbon that breaks off.
    • Stage 4: Reverse Osmosis Membrane - Removes bacteria, viruses, heavy metals, pesticides, herbicides, and reduces the mineral content (TDS) of water.

Pre-Filter Set Option 2: 1 Micron, Premium KDF Cartridge, & 0.1 Micron Pleated Filter

    •  Stage 1: 20 Inch Sediment Filter (1 Micron) - Removes Particles, Dirt, Sand, Mud, Rust, and other large visible particles in the water. At 1 Micron You also start to capture some bacteria from the water.
    • Stage 2: 20 Inch Premium KDF Cartridge - Absorbs Chlorine, Heavy Metals and Organic molecules (bad odors) from the water. The KDF also inhibits the growth of bacteria on the cartridges, extending their life spans.
    • Stage 3: 20 Inch Pleated Filter - Filters the water down to 0.2 Micron capturing fine particles and bacteria from the water. The Pleated Filter takes the load off of the RO membrane, helping to extend its lifespan.
    • Stage 4: Reverse Osmosis Membrane - Removes bacteria, viruses, heavy metals, pesticides, herbicides, and reduces the mineral content (TDS) of water.

    Pre-Filter Set Option 3: 1 Micron, & 2 x Premium KDF Cartridges

    •  Stage 1: 20 Inch Sediment Filter (1 Micron) - Removes Particles, Dirt, Sand, Mud, Rust, and other large visible particles in the water. At 1 Micron You also start to capture some bacteria from the water.
    • Stage 2: 20 Inch Premium KDF Cartridge - Absorbs Chlorine, Heavy Metals and Organic molecules (bad odors) from the water. The KDF also inhibits the growth of bacteria on the cartridges, extending their life spans.
    • Stage 3: 20 Inch Premium - Further reduces Chlorine, heavy metals and organic molecules (bad odors).
    • Stage 4: Reverse Osmosis Membrane - Removes bacteria, viruses, heavy metals, pesticides, herbicides, and reduces the mineral content (TDS) of water.

    Additional Options:

    Pipe Lengths

The 800GPD RO system uses two sizes of piping 1/4" and 3/8". The 3/8" piping is used of the source water feed, so the water coming from the source to the RO system.

The 1/4" piping is used for the flush water feed to the drain point and the product water feed to the systems tap.

The System comes standard with around 3 meters of the 3/8" pipe and around 1 Metre of 1/4" pipe, however additional lengths of either size can be added to the system.

    Pressure Regulator Valve

    Mineral Injector:

The mineral injector helps to replace some of the minerals lost during the Reverse Osmosis (RO) process. The Mineral injector is filled with small beads of mineral, as the water passes through the mineral injector small amounts of minerals breaks away from the beads and are carried with the water. Our mineral injectors insert traces of potassium, calcium, magnesium, germanium, and iron.

    • Potassium: Potassium is vitally important for the functioning of all the cells in the body, especially in the maintenance of neurons (nerve and brain cell). It is also an essential micronutrient that - together with sodium, chlorine, magnesium, and calcium - plays an important roll in maintaining the body's electrolyte balance.
    • Calcium: All the muscles, bones and cells in the body require calcium to function. Calcium is also needed to facilitate the growth and maintenance of healthy bones and teeth.
    • Magnesium: Magnesium improves the function of the muscles, heart, and kidneys, by promoting the circulation of blood in the body. It helps to strengthen bones and teeth.
    • Germanium: Germanium is a plant-based mineral that has the property of being toxic to bacteria, but harmless to humans and animals. When ingested, it has also been found to stimulate the metabolism of the body. It also has the ability to absorb heavy metals and impurities from water.
    • Iron: Iron is one of the main components of hemoglobin, the substance that enables your red blood cells to transport oxygen around your body. It is also part of myoglobin, which enables muscles to store oxygen that is used for cellular respiration.
    • The Mineral injector has a lifespan of 12 months (1 Year) and then it will need to be replaced.

    Water Alkalizer:

One of the more complicated things to change and manage in water is pH. Our bodies want to maintain a pH of 7.8. So if we consume food or drink with a lower pH such as something very acidic (pH less than 7 is an acid) as a sparkling cold drink we have to use some of our reserves of calcium from our bones to maintain a steady pH level.

Water, in general, isn't one of the major contributors as normally water has a very low buffer is how easily the solution's pH is changed. However, water is very often a relatively low pH such as 5 due to CO2 from the atmosphere being absorbed.

The water alkalizer aims to address this problem by slowly dissolving minerals into the water that acts as a buffer and increases the pH. It will vary with flow rate but the aim is to get Reverse Osmosis (RO) water to a pH of over 8. This will eliminate the contribution of water to an acidic diet as the water will not be alkaline.

    Additional Tank Size

The Standard 800GPD RO System does not come with a storage tank, however, a tank can be added if required. The RO tank will create a "buffer" of pre-filtered water, which means that you will not need to wait as long to fill a container.

Please also note that the larger tank will not fit in the same box as the RO system, so there would then be two parcels.

Please see the tank Dimensions for the larger tanks below, please note that Filtershop cannot be held responsible if the tank is too large for the cupboard or area you want to install the RO system into.
